I was taken here by a local guide for lunch and it was fantastic! It's a beautiful restaurant and you instantly feel calm and relaxed as soon as you enter the door and sit down. Due to the incredible summer Tokyo heat, I opted for the cold soba noodles with sesame dipping sauce. They make their own soba right on site and it can't be any fresher, and it's quite reasonable. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner - popular with the locals. It can be a bit difficult to find. It's on the 4th floor of the Quest shopping center building.

No need to hold your breath anymore, because the revamped Funan Mall has opened on 28 June ! Funan Mall may have been known as a hangout spot for tech geeks looking for IT gadgets, but now they offer so much more including a plethora of restaurants. Unique architecture and sleek, modern design aside, there are a ton of new food places as well, together with old favourites. Infused with the citrus yuzu scent, the ramen comes with a chicken oil dashi soup base.

Busy busy busy busy bzzzzz. Juggling work deadlines and freelance projects, yoga class and happy hour, dinners with friends and family. Feeling busy can be overwhelming at times, but I feel unusually energized by my full calendar. My friend Grace ordered an appetizer of sliced cucumbers smothered in a delicious sesame-ginger sauce.
With premium ingredients come exceptional flavour. Ever the idealist, Chef Yuki Onishi rejects the idea of additives or artificial flavouring, preferring to derive the strong umami taste everyone loves from natural sources. He is always on a hunt for ingredients from all over the world, to bring his dishes to life. Three separate broths of chicken, clam and Japanese fish are simmered under strict temperature control, with no artificial flavouring or MSG. This brings out the maximal potential of each ingredient, creating full-bodied, flavourful soups of pure umami.
